Build your own PLAYGROUND!

1st graders created their background first using crayon. We discussed horizon line, clouds, putting the sun some where else besides the corner, collage and geometric vs. organic shapes.

Students picked out their own colors of
construction paper, cut out their shapes and began constructing their fabulous playgrounds.

3rd Grade -Profile Silhouettes

I found this project 3 years ago and students just love cutting images out of magazines! I used an overhead projector to trace each students silhouette. We discussed how visual images play a role in their lives....

5th Grade - Falling back in SPACE!

Thank you Oodles of Art for this lesson idea! I think next year I will let students pick a destination of where they would like to 'fall back to" and maybe incorporate the 7 wonders of the world....

More Chihuly!

This project includes a 1/2 sheet of colored tissue paper, sharpie swirl, and splashed watercolor.

I'll focus on Chihuly's Seaforms and talk to students about cutting an organic, scallop edge.

I also tried marker and it worked.

Hang them from the ceiling!!! Awesome!

I finally organized my lesson plans and examples by 9 weeks!

Each notebook is divided by grade level with word wall words included.

The scrapbook paper is an Amy Butler design pack.
