1st Grade Monoprints

For this lesson, students completed a warm and cool color watercolor design with a wet on wet technique and added salt for texture at the end. Next class, they practiced drawing a sea animal and then were given black paint. Technique: Paint a line, fold your paper and press...open it up...paint a line on the same side, fold your paper and press.

Sea horses...angel fish...sharks...sting ray...octopus...sea turtles.

I made a chart awhile back showing the shapes of different animals. The students seemed to enjoy picking their animals :-)
